As I am in the middle of my final exams, I thought I would save myself a little time and hand over the reins for today’s Memory Lane Monday! I have spoken about my blogging friend Kiki, from North Leads to Home, before on Journeycount and not only does she have a passion for all things interior design and homely, she also loves to travel. Here is her account of her first ever big travel experience…

I meant for this post to be an introduction for a series of posts on first time travel and gap years but as I haven’t got a lot of free time right now I am having to push it back. Memory Lane Monday: Finding paradise in Thailand

Before I left to travel at the end of 2009 I received many amazing recommendations from friends and family. One stood out from the rest. It involved a beautiful, secluded island. Not many people knew about it. My informer had heard about it from a guy at a bar. It was all very The Beach. It was even in Thailand! It was called Ko Lipe and we knew we had to try to find it.
